There are a few important questions that must be asked when deciding on a self-adhesive product. But the 2 most important questions are these…
• What conditions will the label be exposed to and what affect will the conditions have on the label? Consider if it will be inside on a shelf, out in the sun or refrigerated.
E.g. UV inks need to be used if the label will be exposed to the sun.

• What substances will it come in contact with and what affect will they have on the label?
E.g. If it’s a bottle containing an oil and the oil drips down onto the label, what will it do to the printing? What will it do to the adhesive? Will it cause the label to come off? It may, if this wasn’t anticipated and the wrong adhesive is used.
